F22B2/F23 IM comparison

Thanks to Jeremiah and a little bit of time ive gotten some pics of the F22B2 intake manifold i have laying around in comparison with the F23 IM i got from Jeremiah. Ive got some side by side as well as on my spare motor pics.

The stock F22B2 mani with the plenum off:

The F23 with the plenum off:

The F23 bolted to my spare F22B2 block:

The F23 is on the right:

Same as before:

As you can tell the F23 has much "shorter" runners than the F22. The runners are about a mm or two bigger at the head. The plenums are a night and day difference in size and shape.

this manifold might be a good option for us 5th gen turbo guys on the cheap.

I would expect that the runners are different for the extra displacement and longer stroke (and subsequent lower R/S ratio) of the F23. But Yeah I have always thought that the F22 mainfold was a POS with the possible exception of the F22A6's. Good Info Shmuckingham.

yeah i think that would be a good idea for me too, put on the f23tb, the dsm 450 injectors, and possibly a better fuel rail and fpr all on the manifold and swap my old one for the better one. how much of a gain over stock would you expect with that with lower boost though?

thanks for a photo comparison mike, if i stick with the b2 head i may definitely do this.

great info though, this is the kind of effort that makes ad what it is.

On the F23 the MAP you can mount wereever just like the B2 you can. The only thing thats different is the IACV's. Im currently trying to make something to work, it may take some work.

As far as power goes with boost from swapping, it would depend on airflow and such but i was thinking it will definantly allow the car to breath better up top but still retain its down low umph because the runners to the ehad are almsot the same size. As far as i can tell you may notice a tad quicker spool time, but maybe not because i havet tried it yet.

so if we run f23 throttle body with the intake manifold, we would have no worries?

just got my f23 intake manifold in the mail.
for those of you ebaying for these, the f23a1 was also in the acura cl's.
have a 63mm ported f22b2 throttle body to go on as well. just finished port matching the intake manifold.

the throttle body opening on the f22 vs f23 manifolds has to be at least a few millimeters bigger on the f23.
i hit the dyno first thing monday will post results, although there are several other factors im changing besides im+tb.
